Are you happy or mad about the new (unofficial) Tomb Raider game?!?
I’ve always been a fan of Tomb Raider, from Core Design to Crystal Dynamics, but the leaked photos and description of a supposedly new Tomb Raider game is a bit off-setting to me. It seems like as soon as Eidos and Square Enix started working together, it seems that they are making a totally new design of Tomb Raider.I think that Lara was a great action heroine, to a survival horror girl! In the pics for the game, Lara doesn’t even have her pistols! For those who haven’t heard, here’s one of the many articles discussing the topic:

Sound awful to me. Even further removed from the original premise of TR1 that was so bloody good, they remade it into anniv, and it was good again. The free movement bit seems a little worrying, after all, isn’t that what they said would be done for Underworld, and looking at the laughable free climbing in that game, I just hope it’s better done.
Also, when I see “multi region island” and “open playground”, I can’t help thinking of the so called open levels in the last game, which, in reality, simply meant repeating what in effect was the same stage two or three times.
Finally, who is that girl in the picture??!! Seriously, with so many TR fans alienated by the relatively poor last game, and the changes Crystal have inflicted on the franchise, changing the character again and taking her trademark twin guns away may very well sound the death knell for the Tomb Raider franchise.
